Brigadier HH Sawai Maharaja Bhawani Singh Bahadur MVC, the Maharaja of Jaipur, played a crucial role in maintaining the family's polo tradition. Born on October 22, 1931, to Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II and Marudhar Kanwar of Jodhpur, Bhawani Singh was educated at Sheshbagh School, Srinagar, The Doon School, Dehradun, and Harrow School in the United Kingdom.
 

As the heir to a reigning maharaja of Jaipur for generations, his birth was a celebrated event in Jaipur. He ascended the throne of Jaipur on June 24, 1970, following the death of his father, and continued to honour his family's legacy in polo.

Bhawani Singh had a distinguished career in the Indian Army, earning the Maha Vir Chakra for his bravery during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

Polo Tradition

He continued to support and promote polo in Jaipur, ensuring that the sport remained an integral part of the royal family's heritage.
